Network Analyst

Job Description

Most of The Things You’ll Work On:

  • Participating in meetings and training sessions to review and understand new technology and service deployments, including work with team leads and project managers to understand the project scope and deliverables.
  • Play a role of technical support person in projects – helping and collaborating small to medium and large migration and deployment projects.
  • Improving support documentation that includes build documents, method of process, change templates, detailed verification and review and suggest changes plans prior to any major projects.
  • Critical thinking and ability to understand risks associated with in projects and how they impact businesses and other technical teams. Need to understand and document all critical dependencies are addressed and well planned.
  • Understand project guidelines and encompassing without gaps and retaining artifacts essential to support audit requirements.
  • Constantly improve from the lessons learnt to make the process more efficient, reliable and evolve.
  • Provide hands-on network administration support, network maintenance and operations support.
  • Working with networking software and hardware enhancements.
  • Helping in building, configuring, and troubleshooting local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other remote offices’ network including any recommendations and enhancements for other field devices.
  • Helping in configuring IPsec and SSL VPNs, firewall rules and security policies on traditional and next generation firewalls to enhance overall network security.
  • Helping in implementing security measures to protect the network from cyber-attacks, intrusion, infiltration and unknown threats.
  • Diagnose and correct network systems issues along with issues pertaining to other field devices.
  • Provide up-to-date system and network documentation and inventories.
  • Support initiatives with on-site support and to travel to other local offices as needed.
  • Provide after-hours coverage for any emergency situations.

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related industry certification and experience.
  • 0 – 2 years of related network design implementation or support experience
  • Completion of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CCNP or CCNA Security will be an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise firewall configuration (Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA)
  • Good understanding of application protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, IPSEC, SNMP
  • Network security using Cisco ISE (dot1x, profiling and posturing)
  • Working experience of network concepts, including the TCP/IP model, routing protocols, switching technologies and firewall policies.
  • Experience implementing and operating network monitoring and management products
  • Experience with private and public clouds (Azure, Amazon Web Services, VMWare)
  • Architecting the network to ensure it is configured to adhere to best practices for security and performance
  • Understanding of routing protocols including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Configure and monitor tools to assist in identifying and eliminating performance and security risks
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of network layout, switch configurations, routing tables and VLAN’s
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate the value of proposals to business stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, SMTP, WCCP, RADIUS, TACACS, NAP, ACLS, STP, F5 Load balancing and MPLS WAN technology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An aptitude to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to travel to other GT LAB offices within the GTA as needed (international travel may be required in future).
  • Ability to be available on-call.

IT Security Analyst

Position: Entry-level

Job Overview

The IT Security Analyst performs the day-to-day operations of the current security solutions as well as identification, investigation and resolution of security breaches detected by those solutions.

Role

In the role, you will…

  • Be involved in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures
  • Conduct vulnerability audits and assessments and participate in investigations, design and execution of vulnerability assessments
  • Monitor computer networks and systems for security issues, penetration tests, security audits and document any security issues or breaches, in line with the enterprise’s security goals as established by GT LAB’s policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals
  • Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture and the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
  • Participate in the deployment, integration and configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures generically and the enterprise’s security documents specifically
  • Maintain up-to-date baselines and review logs for the secure configuration and operations of all current devices, whether they be under direct control (i.e., security tools) or not (i.e., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.)
  • Maintain operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per the established baselines
  • Provide on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions
  • Consider health & safety as a primary concern for self and others
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Within your skills and qualifications, you will…

  • Possess a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Technology.
  • One or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security.
  • Experience with SEIM, Firewalls & data classification is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security frameworks or standards such as CIS Top 20, NIST and ISO 27001
  • Working technical knowledge of system vulnerability scanning and remediation
  • Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with core banking system related security, Temenos knowledge considered an asset
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products as required
  • Ability to present technical concepts and ideas to non-technical staff and management
  • Highly self motivated and directed
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales – Canada, the Technical Sales Support Lead will provide technical sales support to the Canadian sales team in:

  • Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain the company’s products or services to customers.
  • Discussing customer needs and system requirements with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing orders, negotiating prices.
  • Researching, developing, and modifying products to meet customers’ technical requirements and needs.
  • Helping customers who have problems with installed products and recommending solutions or alternative products.
  • Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to senior management.
  • Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company’s products and services.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales – Canada

To be successful, you will have:

  • Must be technically strong and have a solid understanding of the company products and offerings
  • In-depth knowledge of the company’s technical solutions, ability to relate this knowledge to be understandable to non-technical customers.
  • Proven track record in prospecting, closing and growing business accounts in preferred related industries of – IT security, IT products, IT support.
